# 3

Was channel surfing last week when i came upon this very interesting program hosted by Belinda Lee on Channel U. Its called "Find me a Singaporean!" and each week Belinda goes to the most remote and obscure parts of the earth to see how Singaporeans there are doing. Talk about globalisation huh! I'm extremely envious of her coz she gets to go to all these exotic places like Bhutan, Male and Coimbatore!
Last week's program was about a singaporean woman, who bears an uncanny resemblance to bjork, working as the director of a modern arts museum in Iceland, and i was irresistably drawn to the harsh beauty of the place.
Lush green pastures amidst impressive cliffs of volcanic mountains and rocky beaches reminds me of neighbouring Greenland which shares its Viking history. The mystic beauty of the sweeping landscape, meandering fjords and rolling fields holds so much allure, its not hard to imagine how the archaic vikings made Iceland and Greenland their home.
Gosh~its definitely gonna be on the list of places i want visit before i die.

A little white house nestled within the many volcanic craters on Iceland.

Landmannalaugar, a region near the volcano Hakla in the inner highland area of Iceland. Much of the highland areas in Iceland are cold and uninhabitable.

Dettifost waterfall in northern Iceland.

One of the many rivers which flows from the hostile highlands, and are formed by millions of years of erosion through volcanic rocks.

With views like that, I'll trade in everything to be a little farmer girl there, than a glamorous flight attendant here=(
