what a difference a day makes...
24 little hours...
one day i've got untidy and badly shaped brows...
and the next i've got supermodel brows...

i'm a minah~! hahaha~
yo lexian...i did it~!
its realli dark at the moment and i'm hoping the scabs will peel off soon to reveal a more natural colour.
Jo, my batchgal told me that eyebrow embroidery hurts like crazy so i was mentally prepared for a good torture time. It turned out to be less painful than eyebrow plucking~! Maybe its because LA was applied to my eyebrows so i din feel much pain.
After doing my eyebrows, the beautician commented that i have alot of facial hair and offered to do facial threading at 10 bucks. Gungho me thought 'hey if the eyebrow embroidery pain was so bearable, threading shouldnt be too bad lah', and promptly agreed to it. threading turned out to be something i'll never do again.
Threading was well, alright...except that it feels like u are constantly having paper cuts on ur face~!!! It lasted for 20mins but felt like an eternity. Dorothy started on my forehead and proceeded in an anti-clockwise direction down my face. By the time they reached my left cheek, i was super tempted to ask them to abort misson. It was so painful that i started wincing and grunting, sounding like venus williams on a massage table. Not something that i'm proud of.
I dont care if the hair grows out thicker or whatever. Just not gonna do it again. Peroid.
i sure hope childbirth isnt as painful as this.

Found 2 videos of etihad airways on youtube which are truly inspiring.

I love the background music.

And though the commercial style wasnt exactly cutting edge, the music screams exciting new changes, hope and great prospects. The way the music soared gave me a slight adrenaline rush..hahaha. The 2nd video, which is meant to be their recruitment video, makes u want to check out their website and see when their next recruitment is.

Well, at least i did, and since they just had a recruitment end-july in sg, i dont think they will have another one anytime soon this year.

Just as how we had our "singapore girl, you're a great way to fly..." song to promote SQ, this song was composed exclusively for Etihad airways to market itself as an airline that challenges the norm and push envelopes.

An excellent example of how a piece of music can successfully and effectively aid branding.

As the sun sets on this slightly wet day,
I'm beginning to feel the blues.

My september "Cleo" magazine came in the mail yesterday and before the day is through, i've already gone through the whole mag, and the "Her World" mag chris bought for me yesterday.

He should be in brussels, crossing the borders into the netherlands, and well on his way to the University of Maastricht by now.
Hope everything is well.

Feeling a tad sickly, slightly lonely and marginally depressional.
Oh and overly dramatic as well.

Darn.
I hate evenings blues.

Its amazing how a good set of speakers or headphones brings new spin to ur fav music.

Chris gave me a creative headset weeks ago so i can talk to him via skype when he's in the netherlands.
Lazy slacker me didnt try it out till today and i'm totally enjoying the sounds coming through right now=) yippee ki yay~!

Totally hooked on keane's hamburg song and the fray's how to save a life right now.
Hauntingly beautiful songs that touches and grips ur heart so tightly that u feel it ache.

The hamburg song was written by one of keane's bandmembers about lead singer Tom Chaplin when he was in his darkest hour at the peak of his alcohol and drug addictions. Tom's superb vocals, accompanied by the quiet beautiful sounds of the organ and piano, simply tugs at ur heartstrings.

Coincidentally, the fray's how to save a life is about a troubled soul too.

According to lead singer and songwriter Isaac Slade, the song was composed and influenced by his experience while working as a mentor at a camp for troubled teens:"One of the kids I was paired up with was a musician. Here I was, a protected suburbanite, and he was just 17 and had all these problems. And no one could write a manual on how to save him."

In the midst of all these melancholy, i feel so alive.

Thank god for youtube, here's the videos.

Just got back from flight.

Was supposed to go to xmas island today but we didnt quite make it there.
Plane turned back to spore just as we were at the top of descent into xmas island, 1/2 hr before touchdown, due to a hydraulic system failure.

As we flew back to spore and across the dense indonesian jungles, i couldnt help but think morbidly about the possibility of a crash. Its my nature. I am over-paranoid, over-imaginative and very quick to think of the worst.

I thought of my family and friends, and was a little glad that at least i had a good lunch with my mom this afternoon before coming to work, and messaged chris on my way to work and told him that he makes me happy.

I thought of how it will be when my loved ones receive news of my death and realised that chris probably wont know about it till hours later since he went to jb. I wondered if the pain of my death will be etched into the heart of my loved ones and if they would ever get over it. I thought about the crew missing out on the fat bonus that awaits us in our bank accounts today, 7th july, and suddenly realised i didnt make any nomination for my cpf and didnt make a will to allocate the little money i have. Seems rather silly now that i'm penning it down but those were my precise thoughts.

We touched down safely and fire trucks rushed to the aircraft in anticipation for any fire that might break out.

The passengers applauded. I breathed a sigh of relief and thanked the gods and captain norman for bringing us back safely.

They say live each day like its your last.
I 'feel' that quote more than ever after this incident.

Most of the time, we forget that each day is a gift, and go about our lives being unhappy about things we cant control or staying angry with people or things longer than we should. We get too caught up in our little mundane life and miss out on the joys of living. Our bored, glazed-over eyes fail to notice the blueness of the mid-afternoon sky, the gentle breeze toying with our hair as we walk down the street and the cute dimples in the cheeks of the smiling toddler perched on the mrt seat, peering inquisitively out of the big big windows.

From this day on, I shall try my best to keep an open mind and try to enjoy living, rather than lament about making a living. And in Anthony Bourdain's words ( i just caught the paris episode of his "no reservations" series again last night and its still so inspiring) , "Take the time off and eat a ham sandwich, i mean, really eat a ham sandwich."

Clear your mind and truly enjoy life for what it is worth, coz for all u know, u might not live to see another day.
